What was the population of an island in 1700?

For school i gotta design an island. So in general what would the population be?

For example-the population of Great Britain around that time was about 11 million. Most other island would have had a much smaller population, I’m guessing. Unfortunately, I’m having a difficult time pinpointing a population for smaller islands for the 1700s, sorry :(

The population of GB in the 1700s was roughly 52million.

Actually, I did some more research and found that we were both wrong. 52 million is actually closer to their current population, which is at about 62 million. Accordingt ot this source, the population was at about 5 million in the year 1700: http://funadvice.com/r/151st2666ar
