I realized I liked my best friend a few weeks ago

Ok, so I realized I liked my best friend a few weeks ago, its a really long story but ill try and sum it up, she got out of a 4 year relationship like 2 weeks ago, we have been best friends for about a year, I started getting feelings for her, but so far they’re not really strong feelings, and I DID tell her how I feel and all she said was why would I like HER and a bunch of other stuff, I started getting feelings for her cause I would just be playing around with her and saying things like, “im falling in love with you.” and writing her really sweet love letters (which she loved lol) and then after a while I started to realize I WAS falling for her! but now im in a pretty bad dilemma, how can I get over liking my best friend!? cause its not like I can just stop all contact with her you know, I’ve tried looking up sites of how to get over someone but they all say to stop talking with her, I need some help bigtime, oh and we’re 18 and starting college in a week, so yeah you’re not talking to some little kid.

and if its possible send a link to a site that gives good advice for this kind of thing, and I know im probably forgetting something lol, oh I only just started to realiz I liked her so I dont think it will be THAT hard to get over her, PLEASE HELP
