Your nearest, most local newspaper (town or neighborhood) may have a listing either of volunteer opportunities, or of service organizations that you could ask about volunteering.
I don't know where you live but if there is a meals on wheals in your town you can call them up and ask to volunteer. I helped out a little last year. I love old people. (:
I think at the job centre you can ask about a volunteering job or go to your local community centre
