pin reaction in bowling

how do you get a good pin reaction without throwing a hook. my dad told me to lift the ball because its a special ball because its new and plastic. just wondering if there was a better way to get pin reaction

I usually bowl it with a spin to the left side. I might bowl it a couple of centimetres to the right (from the middle) and then spin it back in the direction of the front pin. Generally the reaction (if done right) is quite good and it more than capable of knocking them all down. To get that sping you just push your rude finger deeper into the ball. That way as you release it, your finger will still turn it to the left before it comes out, lol. Try that and see if it works for you :).
