Piercing Question

I am very very sure that my belly button piercing is infected.. can I just take it out??? I cant put up with this anymore.. I would go to the dr. as soon as possible and get an antibiotic but I’m going on my senior trip next week and probably cant get to the dr. in time.. so I know I’ve heard that if you take it out it’ll heal and leave the infection inside but I can’t put up with this anymore .. I feel gross.. is it safe to just take it out??? Would that be my best option outside of seeing a dr.???

Do not take it out, whatever you do. If you can’t stick around your area to wait for a doctor’s appointment, go to the hospital. You may have to physically wait there for hours before they get to you, but it’d still be within one day that your getting it taken care of. Or if you have any walk-in clinics you could go to, that would also be a good bet for you.

If that still isn’t an option for you, there are a few things you can do in the meantime to help. Some of these things, you should be doing all along so it may not help.

-Clean it twice daily at least with salt water, or some sort of cleaning alcohol solution. -If you currently wear a large or heavy belly ring, switching to a small one can help it heal easier. -After showers, blow dry your belly button to make sure its dry (Bacteria flourish in wet environments, so the quicker and more thoroughly its dry the better)

If you take extra care it may make it better at least long enough until you can get anti-biotics.

visit a physician and NOT put anything at it anymore, unless you want to risk your self to another history of infection again out of that thingy that serves nothin.. lol! just stay sexy without that piercing!

Answer #4

If you leave it and don’t get help from a doctor it will get a lot worse and more painful. You haven’t even TRIED calling the doctor? Just do it, you need to get it checked out. Do not take it out - let the doctor fix it.

Answer #5

do not take it out go to the place you got it pierced and have them look at it and they will tell you what the best thing to do is
