How do I get my photos to open with a different program?

Okay on my computer I open my pictures in my pictures and it opens it in microsoft picture manager what I havent got and it says please enter product key and quite frankly I dont want to buy it so how do I get them all to open in windows photo gallery like it used to?

For a one time opening, right click on the file and one of your options will be “Open With …” and that will give you several options, including “Browse” in case the program you want isn’t listed. This will be effective this one time, and then it will revert back to what it normally uses to open the file.

If you right click on the file and pick “Properties”, under the “General” tab click on “Change”. Then pick the program you want ALL FILES of that type to use. Click and the change will remain in effect for that file type until you change it again.

Note, sometimes when you download and run a new program, it will change some of your preferences. A well behaved program will ask you first, but sometimes that ‘asking’ is in the form of a pre-checked box that you have to UN-check to prevent a change. (You do read those boxes that pop up with the installation wizard, right??) ;) Good Luck!!

what format is the pictures in. ie… jpeg ect
