The most important first step is to remove the battery as quickly as possible. You see the water can cause a short that can fry sensitive chips in your phone. After that disassemble your phone as much as practical to dry out (iPhones don't really come apart but other phones do).If you are on good terms with your school science teacher you can ask them to dry it out in the vacuum pump. You see, at low atmospheric pressure the water quickly evaporates. If you don't have access to a vacuum pump you should use a desiccant to draw the moisture out of the phone. Rice is a natural desiccant that most people have access to but there are better ones out there. Last year I jumped into my pool with my phone still in my pocket. The rice trick worked for me but it took 3 days to dry it out enough to work.
I have dropped mine in a toilet too.... I just took the battery out out a hairdryer to it, make sure its on the COOL setting!!!!! cause the warm setting will ruin it more and make it steamy inside your screen. let it sit overnight to air out.
I don't know if it'll really work after its been completely submerged it water... But, you can try taking it apart and putting it in a bag of rice over-night and see if it workd after that. Hope this helps! - Katie :)
hmm.. it might not fix but take the back ooff, pull out the battery and thhe sim card and leave them out over night and they might dry out then try them in the morning .. hope this helps :)
Thanks everyone... I think I'll try the rice thing :) since my mom probably won't buy me a new one.. This is my third new one of the year lol... I should be more careful..
put it in a bag of rice for a full 24 hours, better if you leave it for 48 but then take it out and put it on, dont try putting it on until its been in rice
If you put it in a bag of rice for a couple of days it is supposed to help dry it out, but there's no guarantee it will work again.
Putting it in a bag of rice always works! (: Cuz the rice is so dry, it will absorb allthe water and moister fro the phone (:
though i had noticed with one phone that the battery didnt stay charged as long so i might suggest a new battery
take out battery sim ..take a hair drier machine blow it ... hit on soft pillow to remove the water...
yupp i have done it to a mp3 player numerous phones and they work just as well after it dries out
We have a How To for that: http://www.funadvice.com/howto/savecellphonewater_damage
I also heard pulling that battery oiut and leaving them ontop of the fridge will work
let it dry out a few days n it shoud be fine... if anything replace the battery
flush it and hope it ends up in the sewers underneath your work :D
that really works? I wish I could of done that to my phone
You can take it to a store and ask about warranties.
put your phone is a bowl of dry rice over night =)
