Is man only a working being or is he more than just a working being? it's about alienated labor...
It depends on the kind of work, there is work which you do for your own developing, such as all the arts and professions and activities such as cleaning your house, raise your children, etc. and there is work that you do for others, that you do because you need to, and you really dont want to do, this is alienated work. Men were not born to be alienated.
All creatures work toward their survival. Man is unique in that instead of learning all the skills necessary for survival we usually specialize in one activity then barter our labor for money then use that to buy things we need to survive.. Is that the jist of your question?
I believe that man is a working being- that constantly aspires to something higher. thus the birth of philosophy. and the illegal drug trade.
