Pet shitzu

What can you use on a shitzu to keep them from itching and digging so much. my shitzu scratches so much he bleeds?

If it’s just dry skin…go to Walmart and pick up some Fish Oil Caps…they’re cheap, and Omega 3’s condition the hair and skin…Bath as little as possible, also…it drys the skin out.

Skin stays healthy from the inside out…Salmon Oil also works, but is more expensive

Shih-tzus have naturally dry, allergy prone skin. Try bathing him in a dog shampoo formulated especially for dry skin and skin allergies.

He may have a flea allergy. All it takes is for one flea to jump on, bite him, and jump off. It’s similar to us being bitten by a mosquito. Keep a good flea medication on it, such as Frontline or Advantix. Also, you might as well take it to the vet and get it checked out. They should be able to give it a cortisone shot to help with the itching where it can get some relief. Sam
