I don't get it's not like it's gonna help.
I think it does help :)....or yelling.....It may even release enorphins in the brain. Ever try to hold it in? It's an involuntary reaction....
I found this article in the NY Times, about an experiment in the UK...on cursing, yelling, and it's correlation to pain...
"The researchers measured their heart rates and timed how long they could keep their hands in the ice water. On average, people were able to withstand the pain for significantly longer if they cursed than if they did not. Swearing also increased heart rate and decreased subjective reports of pain."

To be honest, I'm a quiet sufferer. I do the exact opposite of yelling. I hold my breath and close my eyes.
My mother on the other hand makes the loudest whimpers for EVERYTHING. It gets rather annoying to hear someone constantly moan and complain and scream.....
Its a natural reaction to pain it has nothing to do if its going to help or not, animals yell out in pain when they are hurt. Its just a reaction.
Well, the link thing here doesn't work, but it was in the NY Times, and I explained what they were trying to find out.
It does work.....read the article...interesting.
