Why do some people seem to always mumble and don’t pronounce their words properly?

I think they were just allowed to do it and were rarely corrected.

The sad reality is that mumbling makes a person look unintelligent - even if they were a remarkably intelligent person.

What if they have been doing it for years, like since they were a little kid? Do you think it could be a medical thing, or just one of those things that some people do?

My opinion? It’s laziness.

People have lost the will to properly anunciate and their speech sounds slurred and sloppy.

I try to make sure all my words are clearly spoken, as I get annoyed when I need to ask someone to repeat themselves.
