How do actors suppress the recoil from shooting a gun in movies?

Answer #1

They’re firing blanks with a fraction of the powder load. Since there is no real projectile to propel… and a fraction of potential energy available to begin with… there is not much resistance for the gun to absorb.

Answer #2

Ok thanks cuz I knew they fired blanks but I wasn’t sure why it didnt bounce up like it normally would.

Answer #3

They also add sound effects to make gun shots sound and seem a lot bigger than they really are. If you saw the actors shooting in real life, it would more than likely just be a pop sound, like a cap gun.

Answer #4

ohhhhhhh…thanx. but jes wundering um is the Ak-47 an automatic weapon cuz in games it fires like rapidly but in a lot of movies there is a pause between bullets as if its a pistol…jes wundering if u noe if its automatic or semi-automatic…

Answer #5

It’s automatic as far as I know. There might be switches on them though to change it from semi-auto to auto and vice versa, not sure. It’s probably fires at a different speed in games because all it takes is reprogramming the game to make that happen, which is as simple as changing a number in the program.
