Why do people say I'll be girly when I grow up?
Im sick of people saying ill be girly when i grow up. I say not if i can help it. my mom says that its just a stage. I want to tell her “ so mom If i like dragonball and bleach(i do) when im a senior in highschool ill be wearing mini skirts, dye my hair blonde, watch jersey shore and all the mtv crap”? my bro says I’ll be unbearybly girly when i grow up. and i dont want to. Plus I made a vow that if I saw the guy I like again, if he appeared until then, i would not be girly. so how to stop these people(err i mean my family and friends)?
Well they are just assuming that is how you will be all parents, friends and family members do that. Just be who you want to be and ignore what they say. Also their is nothign wrong with being girly. Im into alot of anime and guy things but i am very girly because i enjoy dressing up and looking good. Girly isnt skirts, blond hair and liking mtv. sorry if i wasnt helpful
By “girlie”, are you sure they meant mini skirts, dying hair blonde, etc.? Maybe instead they are trying to make a point that you will grow out of whatever stage you are in now. I don’t know, just guessing. Anyway, back to your question, just be polite and calm, assertive, and get the message through that you want them to stop. Or simply brush what they say off. They might be saying this to get a reaction out of you, so don’t give them that satisfaction. Just nod your head and be like “alright”.
