Download OpenOffice. It's free and compatible with MS Word. It gives you a spreadsheet and a database application as well as a word processor. I use it for everything.
To download it? No. However, you do have to pay for the registration key to activate it after your trial ends.

Open Office is free and will do the job :D
Unless you get it illegally then yes, you do have to pay for it.
