You have no need to get one unless you’ve been sexually active for over 2 years or your over 18. Although when it comes to birthcontrol it depends on where you live if it’s needed. They will ask you if you have had sex and you need to tell them the truth, theres no reason to lie they’ve heard everything no worries.

Its very important to tell your obgyn if you are sexuall active. Your 16 years old, your mother shouldnt be in the room when your having a pap smear an talking to your obgyn. An obgyn also can not tell your mother anything that is said between the two of you, so be honest because it is important.

The Obgyn can tell if you have had sex before without asking you, what they need to know if you have been sexually active recently.

You not only have the right to request a PRIVATE exam - i.e. no parents - but you also have the legal right of privacy. Tell the doctor that you do NOT want him / her discussing anything about you with anyone without your OK. That is the law. (The HIPAA Privacy Rule provides federal protections for personal health information - that means the doctor cannot share any medical info without your permission except information needed for patient care and insurance purposes.)
