Does anyone know how to open up a laptop when the password won't let you in. What does one do?

Is it your laptop? if so then why dont you know the password….you could always go to the question mark and get a hint…and if that fails then maybe take it to a computer shop and get them to help you reboot it?

There are also OS’s you can boot from on CD that will allow you to delete the password.

It was a gift from a friend who since past away. When I got it the next morning I entered the password she gave me, and entered in. But that evening when I went in I did the same thing, couldn’t get in, and since then haven’t been able to get in.

I’m not very litterate with computers so do I type in “Adminsitrator”, with upper case first letter and lower case with the rest of the words?
So explain step by step for me. I’ll follow when I get your sessage. Thanks.

No you don’t type anything in. There should just be an “Administrator” option & all you have to do is click it. So 1.) restart and press f8 2.) click “start in safe mode” 3.) click administrator button 4.) go to start and click “users and accounts” 5.) there, you can change/remove password for the main account. I’m not sure of any other way to word it. Good luck

If you have to type it in, more than likely it would be all lower case.

What is the admistrator button? When I click on safe mode I get the opening page where the password goes.
