I have a CDL class A drivers license. I have no experience and I have one felony. No matter what I do I keep being rejected by all driving co. Q: Should I just look for another proffesstion? I need help!!
Instead of looking for over the road jobs, or the big LTL carriers...maybe try applying to a smaller LTL company...There's small companies all over who interline with the big carriers for P & D...They are way more forgiving of "blips" in their driver's past (not DUI's, tho)...and they are more desparate for Class "A" drivers. I know they don't pay as well, but we're not talking "for the rest of your life"...we're talking getting a foothold in the industry...once you've "proven" yourself, with no trouble...no tickets...etc, you'll be able to be more picky about where you want to go, and what you want to do...
Honest...I worked for a Freight Co. for 12 years...when they closed the terminal in our town, I had 8 calls to come to work at competing companies, without ever putting an application in anywhere...the "grapevine" in the trucking industry is better than the telephone.

Congratulations on getting the licence. I too have 1 felony from six years ago and I went through CDL training, but didn't finish because I got a lil discouraged after getting and offer from Werner then I was later rejected. But I gave up easy because I'm not really a trucker in the first place. I think there's hope for you in trucking if that's what you want to do. There's vast opportunity. If you having bad luck finding an OTR job don't 4get there's local jobs like dump trucks which make around $15/hr where I'm from. Ultimately I decided to go for my barbering licence.
PS...these small companies also appreciate it if you already have your "Hazardous Endorsemets"...if you haven't got them...do it...those might be the "booster" to push you up and over the "other guy"...
