It is a term used for new Latin name sin biology. Look at it like this, poeple are called humans, a rose is names a rose, the act of naming such things is the meaning nomenclature. Very good question.
Nomenclature is simply the rules to name something... You're going to have to be more specific, what are you naming? compounds? acids? plants? animals?
