well my lil sister is 1 year and 4 months and when she was little my mom used to clean her wit a q-tip she used to put alcohol on it and rub it on her navel she said she did it because if you could see the skin still open that the alcohol will prevent it from getting infected…

I may still require cleaning. just rub it in the bath. or use the qtips. my daughters fell out and there was still a little layer stuck inside the belly button and when I took her to the doctor for a check up he put this stuff on there and it dried it up and then I had to just clean the rest out with a qtip.

I continued to use a q-tip dipped in alcohol and clean around and in the navel but once you are sure there isn’t anymore dried blood in there then you clean it with regular soap and water when you bathe the baby.

The naval doesn’t require any additional care…just bathe the baby as usual.
