New nose piercing

I just had my nose pierced 3 wks ago. They used an l shape. The piercing went inside the hole. Why? Then I put in a stud with a ball end and it keeps slipping out. Why?

First of all, I’m pretty sure 3 weeks is not the recommended healing time for that piercing so you shouldn’t be changing the jewelry at all. You should be waiting 8-10 weeks before doing any kind of heavy fiddling with it.

The jewelry is going into the fistula (the skin tube that forms when your flesh heals around a piercing) because it’s probably loosening. I’m betting you were pierced with a relatively small gauge (maybe 20 or 18g), which makes it all the easier for it to slip like that.

You should go back to your piercer and see what they can do for you, since they should change the ring for you for free (or at least a VERY small fee).

because you probably got it peirced by some inexpirienced idiot at the salon or mall the l shape thing isnt a good peice of jewelrey it just doesnt stay in and most of them are too short anyway an will slip out often which means your peircing wont heal for a while if the thing comes out while its trying to heal what you need is a surgical steel corkscrew one there tricky to insert and remove but there on of the best peices of jewlerey for your nose and they dont just slip out either and if your talking about a stud with a screw on ball for the other one that doesnt belong in your nose

Answer #3

same here..I have had mine pierced for 8 years now and have always used a corkscrew stud..I tried early on one you are talking about and it wouldnt stay in either…waste of time and $$

Answer #4

The one with the ball on the end is too short. The ball on the end isn’t big enough to stay in the piercing. Mine also always slide out at night. Which is why I use the L shaped ones. Theyy work way better darlin. =] If it goes through the piercing again just try an L shaped nose ring with a bigger diamond/stud.
