Need help period/ pap smear
Ok so im going in for my first pap smear on thursday, and I got my period today. What do I do??? Are you not supposed to get a pap smear while on your period help!
Reschedule because the blood might alter the results of the test. Try to schedule your exams when you know you will not be on your period.
Call your doctor and ask them.

It’s not recommended having a pap smear while on your period as it can make it difficult for the pathologist to get a clear reading. The doctor may still perform one, if it’s a light flow. The best thing to do is to ring the place where you appointment is and ask to speak to a nurse or doctor. You may be able to reschedule or they may tell you to keep your appointment and the doctor will check if the flow is light enough. Hope this helps x
