How do I convince my parents when choosing a university?
My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 2 and a half year and my parents are very open minded about it. and I want to go to Australia for university he’s there right now… but my parents don’t want me to go because they think I my only reason to want to go there is because of him but the truth is I went there for summer school and I loved it I prefer aussie to the USA and my I have visited quite a few uni’s in both countries… I am a smart girl and know I can get in but how do I convince my parents that I want to go to aussie because of the universities?
Parents will be parents - there’s nothing you can do or say that’s going to make your parents happy about you wanting to go to Aussie for university. Just make the best decision for yourself and don’t let your relationship effect this decision no matter what the circumstances are.
The advice you got here so far is good.
Tell your parents that you promise them good grades, I think that’s the best guarantee that you can give to them that will convince them. Say you will send them emails/letters/text messages frequently to keep in touch and keep them informed with your studies.
Remind them on how much fun you had when you went to summer school in Oz. Tell them you want to experience the country again.
Also, the Aussie dollar is cheaper than the US dollar so you get to save money if you go to Australia to study.
tell them that he may not even be going there and that they can check your scores whenever they please just to make sure you are actually there for skill not boys luv Andie
