Naval Piercing Help- Infection??

Okay so I got the bottom of my belly button (inverse naval) done close to five months ago and it is still extremely red and the skin around it looks quite dry and flaky and whiteish. It still secretes some white stuff which I am assuming is puss? after I clean it or a shower. Is this an infection? Am I cleaning it too much? How do I get it to pass quickly withouth having it reject or having to take it out? Help Please!!!

Well the same thing happened to me and mine was infected so go see the person who pierced first and ask them because they would know best and if you did it urself (like my dumbass did) go to a doctors because if its infected they can make it go away and it won’t hurt. Hope I helped =]

yeah, it sounds alittle infected. If your cleaning it with alcohol, STOP! You should go to the doctors but if you want to just doctor it up yourself you can try and clean with alcohol once or twice then switch to anti bacterial hand soap. The alcohol strips away a layer of the tissue which will get rid of any surface infection, but do it only once because if you continue it makes the skin heal a lot faster which means it could heal over the ring. the hand saop keeps it clean and still allows you to rotate it.
