Native Americans...

I no that native americans were the first people in North America, but how did THEY get there? my history teacher said that they were origonaly from asia, when one of the countries were trying to expand their empire… I can see how thats true, but are there any other theroies out there? what do you think…

Answer #1

Unless you are a Mormon, it’s been pretty definitively established that the first humans in North and South America came via what is now the Bering Sea. There is some debate about whether they walked across on a land bridge or some combination of foot and boat travel down the coasts.

Answer #2

Like the white settlers, the first Indians were immigrants. Anthropologists say they came from northeastern Asia. They resembled the early Mongol people of that region. Nobody knows when or how they came. They probably arrived when ice sheets covered much of northern North America ,This may have been 20,000 to 30,000 years ago.

Answer #3

We’ve been here from the beginning of time. And were still here today. I dont buy that whole…ice sheet bit. Sorry. But yeah.

Answer #4

I always thought that they were from South America, because of the light but dark skin color. But you teacher is probably right.

Answer #5

my history teacher told us that the indians came from wherever to America on ice bridges (think thats what they were called) and I guess it could lead from one place to another and at one point the animals would walk on it then pretty soon the indians followed them and thats how they got here or so he told us

Answer #6

that also sounds true…
