My mother found out I got a bad grade, and yelled at me

At my school, there is this program where parents can see your grades online. Sometimes I skip some assignment or the other, and plan on turning it in as a late assingment. But she checks the website and statrs screaming and yelling at me. It’s the beginning of the semester, so if you miss, like 2 points, it’s like half your grade. I’m getting a B- in Earth Science, and she’s all up in my business. My later grades will probably bring it up, but is a B- really that bad? Anyway, I missed this one assingment in English, which dropped it to like a failing gade, and she’s gonna check, and I’m gonna get killed. And the thing is, our teacher said loud and clear that the assingment was DUE TOMORROW, not today. What should I do?

Warn her before she sees the marks. That way it won’t be so bad. Also I get why she is angry to. You should be doing your work and not failing.

I’m worried about the same thing! I just failed a History test because my teacher gives ridiculously HARD TESTS!!! Plus I’m in the accelerated classes which makes it worse. My mom can also see my grades online. She knows that in the beginning of the marking period the grades will be low but she doesn’t care. She’s gonna FLIP OUT!!! I’m just gonna tell her ahead of time and hope for the best… I hope I can still go to that upcoming party…

She’s your mother - she is supposed to be “All up in your business”. She is trying to motivate you and make you be a good child and studend and has every right to be upset about you not doing your work in school.

If you don’t want your mother upset - simple - do your work from now on.

Answer #4

Warn her ahead of time. Get the screaming over with before she checks your grades. I would also suggest going into withdrawal for a little while so that she gets the clue that she’s a pain in your (fill in the blank, I don’t know what kind of person you are) maybe if she sees that she’s a pain she’ll let off a little.

Answer #5

r you talking about grade speed??? cause thats what we have here in doddse schools …I would just tell her ahead of time and ask the teacher if you could turn it in late for at least half credit…and tell your mom that it’s just at that moment that your grade is like that…it will go up…if you do your work

My dad blows up at me for getting an f, one f. in a class I wasnt supposed to be in, dont like, and cannot understand. he grounded me for a week. I had 2 a’s, 2 b’s, and 2 c’s otherwise. quite good for me. (as I stand in the shadow of my sister’s 4.0 gpa.) he views my failure as a reflection of who he is as a parent. He is a great dad, but he cares too much. perhaps your mother is the same way. I cannot offer a solution, as I am still searching for my own, but when you graduate, the relief will come.
