My friend stole from Wal-mart!

It was like a month ago,and she stole a $3 bracelet. she’s like 14 I belive She got out of the store. The next time she goes back, will she get in trouble?? Has anyone worked for Wal-mart?What do they do? What’s going to happen? she’s really freakin’ me out. she won’t even go near a wal-mart. If she puts the Item back, will she get in trouble? Would they call the police?

nothings going to happen. you guys are over your heads.

you really think walmart cares that much about 3 dollar bracelets when they have things that costs hundreds of dollars a piece?

each retail store has their own security (seperate company) sometimes called Loss Prevention…

…it is their job, not the actual retail store (like Walmart) to catch crooks. and if the crooks are not caught after they leave the store, they simply forget about it, because the crime is out of their hands now, its too late to attack once the people are out of site.

besides. theres tons, and I mean, TONS, of crooks A DAY.

out of the 20-30 that shoplift a day at your Walmart, do you really think that the security is actually going to keep track of the thousands of people that step foot into that store a day?

you really expect them to keep track of all faces? looking for an innocent looking baby crook that stole a 3 dollar bracelet when they have bigger fish to fry? like for example looking for someone who stole an ipod???

besides, she is under age, waaayy under age, all they will do if they actually ONE DAY catch her, is just call her parents, just to pick her up, no fine or anything.

the chances of you getting caught for actually stealing anything, is very slim, becuase its fairly easy to do.

a 3 dollar bracelet to begin with, would probably be too much trouble for any manager to want to deal with. too much chaos, commotion, phone calls and paper work, they will probably just be like, go on, get out of here, just leave us alone.

seriously, dont sweat it. go back to walmart, nobody even knew she stole anything to begin with, you guys are just pysching each other out.

you should worry about this once your 18 and over, THEN you can actually face serious consequences. your young, and the law doesnt affect you AS much. have fun with your experiences.

learn to be chill.

Okay people, thank you so much for all of your help and advice. We went back to the store, Returned the items, wrote and apology letter, wrote a letter why stealing is wrong, paid for the returned item and are banned for 2 months. So, lesson learned : don’t go to the store with friends you’re suspicous of being good theives. You might get taken down with them.

Answer #4

it depends on if she is gonna tell them that she took it I mean its wrong that she did it in the first place but..I doubt that shell get in trouble for stepping foot and if they are gonna do something and if they new they would have done something by now! so I no that nothing will happen.

1.It doesn’t matter how much the item stolen costs, stealing is stealing, and you can still go to jail for it

  1. no, unless wall-mart has it on there security cameras and saw her take it, they probably don’t know anything happened, because shes young they will probably let her off with a warning if she did get caught or ban her from the store

  2. Returning the item could be risky, but if she wants to own up, she could ask to speak to the manager or a person who works there and return the stolen item, along with an apology and saying that she’s learned her lesson an won’t ever do it again

4.This should be a lessen to her, and should remind her not to steal, because it’s wrong and has consequences. If she doesn’t take it as a lesson and continues to steal then you should tell someone about what shes doing, like her parents, who can take action.

Answer #7

If your friend wants PEACE OF MIND, she needs to return her $3.00 bracelett. Maybe you can go with her with a letter of apology. This will help her get on the right track in life. OR… she can take $3.00 and say she forgot to pay for it? either way, she needs to fess up.

Answer #8

I got caught once and it was friggin embarrassing, luckily my mom was with me so they let me go. I wouldnt bother stealing, juvy hall sucks!

Answer #9

Hahaha! She won’t get in trouble if she was able to walk out of there without anyone noticing. The people in Wal-mart didn’t even realize she stole. Trust me, if they knew and were going to do something about it, when she had exited the store they would have stopped her and took the bracelet. Then they would have brought her into a room where they would take down info, and even after that nothing would even happen. It’s actually not even a big deal when they catch you, it’s just like a “Don’t ever do it again.” (Speaking from personal experience) And if it bothered her so much to steal the bracelet, how about she just bring it back and explain the situation? If it is still in the package they can still sell it, so it will be like it never happened. If not, then she might as well keep it. I mean, she stole it for a reason. So no, she will not even get in trouble because no one even noticed the bracelet was stolen.
