He is unresponsive in hospital. I don't know why he did it. Do you think it could be my fault? What other reason could there be? I'm pretty sure he still loved me after we broke up, I still love him.

Was he maybe suffering from depression? That is the main cause for people committing suicide. (I had two friends who had close friends/family members commit suicide last month because of depression - it's also something that gets overlooked easily - especially in teens)
In any case, even though you want to, yous shouldn't blame yourself.Millions of people break up every day without attempting suicide.
dont blame urself for his choice but right now the best thing you can do is be by his bed side as hes going through this. your the only one who can comfort him at this time.
Thats a tough thing to deal with, but you cant blame yourself. Thats was completely his choice. Sorry to hear that.
