My dog wont eat

my dog will not eat his food. He will go for days with out eating. HIs food is in the basement. I have to leave him down their when I am at work. Anyway I will leave his food and water down there with him but he wont eat it?

might be a good idea to take him to the vet just to have a good health check up. Also can you crate him somewhere upstairs instead of the basement. is this new behaviour for him?

Yeah, he’s probably depressed. I know I wouldn’t wanna eat if I spent hours in a basement by myself :( Dogs need to run around and be with friends haha He can’t stay in the yard or with someone until you get home?

Most dogs seem to not eat or over eat when they are depressed. I know a depressed dog sounds funny, but they do have feelings too. Try playing with your dog more, or going for walks.. Maybe even play fetch.

you have to sit with him and get the food in his mouth, try to mix the dry food with some wet canned food. try to change the food brand. make him eat it or he will die.

maybe hes upset being down there.

but it shouldnt stop him eating
