My dog hates every guy I hang with

Males of ALL species are competative…don’t think you male dog doesn’t realize the difference between men in your life and women…Time for YOU to get assertive with Sam…after all, he’s a dog, you’re a human. Start working him on his obedience daily (this will start the “she is leader, I am follower” thinking going in his brain)…same thing happens with migratory walks…YOU decide when he stops to pee, when he stops to sniff, when you move, which direction you go, for how long…everything in his life becomes…YOU leader, him follower.

You might be more comfortable working with him with a male friend (instead of a possible romantic interest)…have your friend come over, put his arm around you, hold hands…whatever…The minute Sam takes an interest, send him to his bed, or his “place” in the house…even if you have to lead him there. He’s seeing you as a “possession”, no different than a toy or a bone…You’re going to have to step up and re-become his leader, rather than his pal…at least for a while, until the idea of who is who, has been re-instilled in his brain.
