My cell phone got wet!!

This morning I was drinking some cold water and I accidently dropped my razr2 while it was still on . I quickly got it out and took out the battery and dried it . But then I turned it back on and only the keypad lit up and it didnt vibrate when I touched the volume keys. the screen is completely dark it hasnt lit up yet

A friend of mine did that and a blow dryer did the trick, she also left it off for several hours before trying it again. Just be careful and don’t blow dry it too high, too close, etc. because the buttons will melt quickly.

Answer #2

Had the same type of problem, try using a blow dryer on low at a little distance not to overheat the phone then leave it turned off for several hours, it fixed mine, good luck!

Answer #3

that happenedto my old phone. I droped it..then I quickly got it out..I turned it off..dried the phone and battery off. when I turned mine back on, it would only hold a full charge for about 5,10 minutes. so I couldnt really use my phone without it dieing. but luckily, it was time to get my phone upgraded. but I would try the blow drier trick. hope it works..good luck!!

Answer #4

This happened to me not to long ago. Several times actually. I simply took my battery out of my phone & set both the battery & my phone in a bowl of oats. This is said to work anywhere from 5 hours to 3 days. Mine worked again after 13 hours. I hear dried rice works too.

Answer #5

Immediately take the battery out - blow dry warm - place in a container of dry rice for 12 hours (will draw out the moisture)…give her a go !!

Answer #6

I didn’t know using a Blow dryer on a cell phone would work. I learned something new. You should do that since I can’t think of anything else since I never ran into a situation like this before. Just don’t put the phone too close to the blow dryer, and just leave it off for several hours which is a great idea. I wish you luck, and if none of these methods work, then I’d also suggest taking your phone back to the store and see what they can recomend. I tell you, electronics are sensative when it comes to water or anything that’s wet.
