My cat had kittens

My cat started to have her babys 8:00 am she had two . The frist one when she had it I didnt see it but when she came to me I went and looked and it was dead then she had the second one around 9:00 am that was is fine he is eating and seems to be comfy feeding with mom . It is now 5:13 pm and she keeps comeing to get me I follow her to her bed and nothing she climes in with her live baby and just wants me to pet her .. But she grunts and then meows then she pants and she meows at me . Then her breathing got fast then she did that for about 5 mins but no more have been born . Now she is resting does this mean she is done she just seems tired should I take her to the vet to get her check out

Do you know if she has delivered the placenta yet? It would be a blob, and if I remember correctly she eats it, just like she licks and eats the amniotic sac off of the babies so they can start to breathe. She”s coming to you to show you what’s she’s done—and maybe to see if you can help. I’ve entered a call for anyone who know more than I do about this in our dog group and the advisors group as well For now, I guess keep calling the vets. Sorry I personally can’t be more help!

sounds like she may be done. try feeling around her stomache you should be able to feel it if it’s still in there

Answer #3

There should be a vet on-call for the weekend at the clinic you use. you can call them, or if your clinic doesn’t have someone on then call the others around your area—look in the yellow pages under Veterinary Clinics. Meanwhile I”ll see if someone in our group knows anything about kittens. Good luck and try calling.

unusual for her to only have two, but not impossible! Her panting makes me think she is still in labor and may have more inside…has the there been a placenta for each of the two kittens? Each kitten will have its own placenta,,, A vet should have a 24 hr emergency # to call if you have any questions. Let me know how your momma cat is doing and how many she actually has…:)
