I went to the docotrs today with a seemingly harmless piple but they seem to think its infected with mrsa :( so they sent out a cutlre etc. etc. but my question is can i spread mrsa through saliva? Or the area around it? Or can you only get it if an open would touches the infected area? Can someone please explain this to me, I dont want to infect anyone incase it is mrsa :(
You probably dont have mrsa. The same thing happened to me, they said it was either cellulitus, staff infection, or mrsa, my cousin had the same thing, it just looked like a pimple at first, we both went swimming at the lake not long before we got it, it was probably from high bacteria levels in the water, in our cases, I dont believe it can spread through saliva.
MRSA is an antibiotic resistant staph infection. The most common way staph is spread is through direct contact or indirect contact with an object (towel, a borrowed razor, handling dirty clothes, etc). It can spread through saliva but this is the less common route. Your best defense is not to share towels or personal items with other people.
Well its really bad now, like i can feel it spreading under the skin. An inch around the original pimple is all red and sore. It hurts to even walk on. I don't think it can either but i want to be safe so i dont spread it :(
