Mouser cat

How do I train my cat to be a good mouser

Answer #1

lol I have no idea how, but why not buy him a stuffed mouse toy & place it on the step at the back door & pick ii up & say good boy as though he caught it & make a big deal out of it that way he may do it himself…

who knows, maybe you dont have any mice around for him to catch, or maybe you have spoiled him too much & prefers real food lol!!

Answer #2

You could sharpen his hunting instincts by using something like the “kitty fishing pole” toys..where they’re leaping and grabbing and running after feathers or bells or whatever…this will increase kitty’s prey drive, and make them quicker. Then if they see a mouse, they should grab it quick.

Answer #3

Cats are natural predators and shouldn’t require any training.

Put a mouse in front of your cat…he’ll catch it.

All my cats went wild when we had a sudden mouse problem…none of them had ever seen a mouse before, but they snatched them all up pretty quick.

Answer #4

Most cats just do it naturally (the number of dead bodies and body parts I find around my house of lizards and frogs!)
