How can I motivate myself to work out?

I know I need to start working out to lose a couple pounds (like 5-10) and to get stronger for cheerleading in september, but I cant make myself actually work out how can I motivate myself to actually do this? nothing seems to make me work for it even tho I do really want it

I know, I know : ) Let me help ^_^

I motivated myself to go to the gym by asking two of my friends along. While we’re there, we listen to music or we talk about whatever happened in class that day. I’ve seen people reading their textbooks while walking on the treadmills or cycling. Whether you choose music, talking, or studying, just keep working out while focusing on your activity and in no time, you’ll have done so much.

In my room, I have a poster board on the wall next to my bed. On it, I have some pictures of my favorite celebrities and some funny phrases. I also have a bunch of motivational quotes that help push me along. When I look at it, I feel more motivated.

But, before I got to do any of those things, I forced myself into a 55 minute yoga class. Just one class and it made me feel so much better. It made me feel so alive and motivated to keep working out. Try something that will get you moving and make you happy at the same time : )

The way I motivate myself is by asking some of my friends to go along to the gym with me. If I work on a machine for 10 minutes and get up to a certain level in it, I try to push myself just a bit farther the next day.

yeah true I agree with crash5400 you want it but not putting 100 % into it your just like whatever happens happens but inside you your really wanting it at times

then you dont really want it, your just telling yourself you really want it. if you really wanted it you would do what it takes to get in the position to do it.

if you know someone that had the same goal, work together and be accountable for each other to reach that goal.

listen to some really awesome music and get your mind set on losing weight.
