Moment of silence?

So yes, today was 9/11. I go to a new school, and I was surprised that during school we never once had a moment of silence, or even talked about 9/11. At my old school last year, I remember we had a moment of silence. Did anyone else not have one? Is everyone just trying to forget that this happened? How come the Republicans @ the RNC didn’t get this memo? haha just kidding. But yeah, answers appreciated.

Sad - afraid many have indeed forgotten.

I think its just that some places don’t really care to much anymore about what happend…

I really don’t think people care to much about tragic times through our history…But it should be something remembered…Something with such a huge impact will always be imprinted on my mind…being part of actions taken during that day I will always have a place in my heart to remember what happened…I was in Saudi Arabia and came off a 12hr shift and right when I came home we saw the news and went right back to work to get a plane prepared to gather intellegance so we could go after some countries we thought had a hand in this thing

as far as emmalism3568…good point…I don’t know if you were around there or lost someone from that area…but I don’t really think that you had struggles during that time…I am pretty sure you were back to normal things that following week…while most of the people impacted by this event are still trying to recover from this event…atleast you were not in the desert working 12hrs a day 7 days a week

I think it’s pathetic that schools in America aren’t talking about 9/11 or such a tragedy it was and how so many people died. In the planes that were hi-jacked, the victims had to call their families and tell them good-bye. None of the people in the planes survived, and so many thousands died from the attack in general. America has changed since 9/11 and it irritates me that Americans aren’t remembering the historical event and how we’ve just grown stronger from our losses..September 11, 2001 should always be remembered, and every year I’m going to think about the struggles we went through and I’m going to remember the lives that were lost. Why can’t we all put aside schoolwork and have one minute of respect for this country?

Rest in peace victims of 911…
