Mid-life crises.

Older women and men - especially those approaching 40 - sometimes go through a mid-life crisies where they try and regian their youth back. All it does is make them look silly. Just talk to your mom and tell her how you feel. If she doesn’t listen, don’t worry, she’ll get over it eventually and go back to being a mom.
