Mice advice!

I recently just adopted a little male fancy mouse… Kingston. Ever since I’ve gotten him he runs on his wheel.. literally all day & all night long. I think this may be normal, but this is my first time with a small animal of such kind. I adopted him bc he was the most active out of the bunch. I don’t have a problem with him running.. I love to see him run. But is that normal?? When I walk up to his cage & say he is just laying down by his wheel.. he’ll get in his wheel. lol. Hes obesesed with it! & another thing… I never see him sleeing inside his house. He always sleeps next to his wheel. Should I get a smaller house?? Any advice will help! Thanks!

I’ve owed tons of animals, small and large. & right now I own 2 adorable Sugar Gliders which I love! =) anyway…ITS TOTALLY normal so dont worry about it.. He does have a obssession with his wheel but its not a bad thing as long as you dont mind the noise. I dont know where you live but if you go to your local pet store they actually sell wheels that are silent. I have one for my gliders and I NEVER hear it. It’s great. As far as the little house goes maybe he just doesnt prefer it. you can take tissue or papertowels and put in the house to make it fluffy for him and he might like that. Another thing that could very well help is geting him another little friend. Just please make sure you get the same sex other wise you will get tons of out of control breeding between them. BUT if he is so active like you say, he may do better with another little friend. GOOD LUCK!

Answer #2

maybe you can get him a little boyfriend. that may ease the wheel obsession.
mice and rats never seem to want to use the expensive things you buy for them. they are just as happy with a cardboard box that you were going to throwaway!

Answer #3

mabee he needs some more things to do?!?> I dunno give him some treats. now can you ansewr my Qustion? it is right below yours on da home page

Answer #4

Well…it seems like he really loves his wheel! Haha :) I think it’s very normal and I don’t think there would be any point in getting a smaller house. When he’s older he may want to walk around there and he may enjoy the bigger space just not actually use it. If you have just got him then he will probably start to settle down soon.

Good luck :)
