How to slow down metabolism
Your metabolism slows down naturally with age. If you want it to slow down more rapidly than it would otherwise do, then you should: (a) eat a lot less - your metabolism will slow down to conserve calories stored as fat for as long as possible, thus presenting you from starving to death too quickly; (b) exercise a lot less - so that your muscles become "atrophied" i.e. they waste away and you become thinner; your muscles are responsible for burning a lot of calories so atrophy reduces basal metabolic rate; (c) sleep for a greater proportion of time - your brain uses a lot of calories when it is more active, and it uses fewer calories when you are in a deep sleep. Effectively, you need to go into a state of "hibernation".
