Mercedes-Benz question

Hi…I have a question regarding Mercedes-Benz…(1998 Mercedes E320) For some reason my car is activating the kill switch as soon as I turn off the car to 1 position with the key. What makes the kill switch activate? Every time it does this…I manually open the passenger door and shut it back and everything comes back on. I’m not sure if its the alarm system but I’m assuming it is because it kills everything like as if it activated a kill switch.

What could I possibly be doing for the car to activate the kill switch when I turn off the car? On the E320. is the passenger door some how connected to the alarm system…because (I’ve noticed) when rolling down the window on the pass door…that’s when the car mostly does this.

I mean killing everything as in turning off the lights (exterior/interior), power door locks..etc…

Thanks a lot :)

“A kill switch (also called an e-stop) is a security measure used to shut off a device in an emergency situation in which it cannot be shut down in the usual manner. Unlike a normal shut down, which shuts down all systems naturally and turns the machine off without damaging it, a kill switch is designed to completely abort the operation at all costs. Often, they are used to protect people from sustaining an injury or being killed, in which case damaging the machine may be considered to be acceptable.”

I cant find a way to deactivate it, it’s a safety thing I guess. I’d call a mechanic or something because that sounds odd that it keeps coming on. Hope you figure it out :)
