It depends on the weather for me.
If it’s hot out, I usually go with either breifs or boxer-breifs for two reasons- A) Warmer temperatures make the genitals looser and hang lower, which can cause trouble (like sweat and sticking to the thighs), hence the extra support is nice to keep them seperate. B) If “the boys” are hanging lower, support can be vital if you are being physical (walking, running, playing support) to avoid damage and for comfort.
If it’s cold out, I usually go with boxers, because these problems aren’t as frequent.
