What is the meaning of the slang word "breaks"?

I’m reading The Outsiders and there’s a quote that says,  “And you can’t win against them no matter how hard you try, because they’ve got all the breaks.”  What exactly does the word “breaks” refer to or mean?

One definition from Urban Dictionary is:

Style of well good music that consists of a catchy breakbeat deviating from the more conventional 4/4 with synths over the top. It is often downtempo and can be alot more interesting than regular techno and trance.

Do You Mean Like When People Say.. Give Me A Break.. Or Can’t I Get A Break From All The Noise In Here? It Can Mean Like Good Luck Or More Chances. Or Why Won’t It End

Answer #4

OK, like “They get all the breaks (i.e. luck)…

Thanks.

Exactly.. When I Write.. I Try To Explain As Best As I Can.. So People Understand Me And Learn Something. Everyone Including Myself.. Can Learn New Things Everyday. That’s How We Learn.. We Ask

Answer #6

In pool, it’s handy (to winning the game) to sink a few balls off the break. When we say ‘lucky break’ or ‘it must be off the break’ we’re referring to pool and sinking a few balls off the break, helping you win the game and win the money on the bet. That’s just how we use it.

Answer #7

Forgot about that meaning, silly me..
