i want to get married october 31 of next year but i do not want a religious ceremony. is it possible for me to get married without a priest but still be able to have a nice wedding with friends and family outside or whatever? like a real wedding just withoutthe church and priest. and how would i go about doing that?
You get married by an officiator or a judge (Justice of the Peace). Anyone who has an officiator license can conduct a marriage ceremony.
I got married in a court room by a judge with no religious references.
next year we plan on having a "wedding celebration" for our families.
I'm not sure where you are from as your location is not showing, but in the uk, if you don't want a religious ceremony you get married at a registery office. If any one reads this from the USA, can they comment on something similar.
You can contact a judge to marry you. It's non-religious, but you'll be legally married. My parents were married by a judge, in a beautiful gazebo. It wasn't religious, but it was still very pretty and meaningful.
