What do postal workers do with packages that won't fit in someone's mailbox?

I am going to order a vinyl, as in a record, and a couple of other things offline and I know it won’t fit in my mailbox. I have a long driveway blocked by a gate. I doubt that they would come up to the house to deliver it, and one time my mom told me that when someone has a package that is too big the post office just sends a piece of paper to the person saying that there stuff there at the post office, but I don’t know if either are correct…

If anybody knows anything about this and could give me some info that’d be pretty splendiferous and much appreciated. :) Thanks.

Well usually when we get a package the post truck guy delivers it. If we’re not home they’ll leave a note on the door and we’ll have to pick it up from the airport where it came from. This is Aus though, your mum is probably right.

Answer #2

Yeah if we miss a package or it’s too big for the mailbox we get a note saying to pick it up at the post office

Answer #3

Usually they would just leave it at your house, but since you have a gate, they will leave a note to either come pick it up, or they will try again another time.

the people who mail packages to my house just leave it at my door…whether im home or not

Our mailman knows us so he leaves it at our Backdoor. In Texas at my mothers they give her a noteto take to the post office to trade for her package
