Lumps under armpit

I had a pain under my arm I went into the er and they lance it and drained it. The pain is still there then I feel it still is hard now my family doctor is telling me that I need surguery to remove the root. What can this be? At the er after they drained it they did not send it for a biopsy and everything that came out of there stunk so bad. Can someone give me advice. I am a forty year old women and I got this 15 years ago under both arms and they drained them and now it seem it came back on one side. Should I be worried?

I used to get absesses or boils or whatever you want to call them under my arms and on my inner thighs really bad starting at like 12 I had them constantly until I was about 18 I went thru being cut on constantly even hospitalized cause I wouldnt allow myself to go thru the pain of having them drained anywayz one night I went to the er and there was a sub. doctor there from atl a chinese man ill never forget him he told me that once you have a absess that your body carries the germ forever you may not ever have another one but you will always have that germ present on you. he said to prevent having this germ take a clorox bath. (make sure you lie with your neck down covered) soak in the tub as hot as you can stand it with about 4 cups of clorox 1-2 times a week. it works. Also most absesses heal into knots and they do return not always but they can pocket on the inside and heal with a hollow spot you may or may not be able to feel on the outside and the hollow gets back infected.

I’m not really sure what it is. My suggestion to you would be to talk to your doctor about it. Next time you can, just fix up a list of questions you have and take the list with you. Say that you’re concerned and would just like to know a little more about what has been going on. I’m sure that your doctor would be better qualified and suited to give you those answers than us.

Take care.
