losing weight healthily (sp?)

ok. so my mom and dad surprised me and my brother with a beach trip to florida for a week in 3-4 weeks. I saw this advice in seventeen magazine that says monday, job (cardio) 30 mins. [then do their exercises with 3-5 lb weights 2 times] tuesday, rest, wednesday[same as mon], thurs, rest, fri, same as monday/wed but cario is 35-40 mins

it says you'll see results in 3 weeks. do you think it'll work??
