How long does it take for an oral piercing to close?

i heard they close up preety fast, but i got mine out like a month ago because i want to repierce it,and you can still see the hole.

Answer #1

Most close up within a matter of hours simply because of the enzymes in your saliva and you can still see the hole because it’s left a bit of a scar. If you took it out a month ago it would have definately closed by now.

Answer #2

I have had my ring out for the last 3 weeks and the hole has not closed yet. I guess it just differs from person to person. From my experience, the holes will always be visible. I had two oral piercings I took out 7 or 8 years ago. Although the holes have closed, they are still visible.

Answer #3

Oral = tongue … or? You need to be more specific with your questions. If you’re talking about a tongue piercing, well … I took mine out almost ten years ago, and although it’s closed in, the scar tissue is still there and quite noticeable. If you’re inquiring about a different piercing, I’m afraid I have no experience with it.

Answer #4

its a tongue web piercing.

Answer #5

oh,i didnt know that the holes will always be visible,it didnt happen to my other piercings. you know if i will be able to repierce it,because the holes streched, and they are quite bigger, will it matter? i really want it back.

Answer #6

I’m not sure. I never tried to pierce a hole that had already closed. I don’t see why not though. You’ll still have to pay. You should ask your piercer.
