So, are the gauges smaller when the numbers are bigger? Because I seen a 16 gauge lip ring, and a 10 gauge one, and the 10 gauges are HUGE. If so, would it be alright for me to get a 16 Gauge and a 18 Gauge one? Would I have to stretch the hole? I had to do that once. It bled a bit, but yeah.

Answer #1

Yes, the smaller the number, the thicker the ring. Highest is 20, going down to 00, and then larger, such as 7/18ths and whatever. I’ve included a gauging chart to help. What gauge were you pierced at? How long ago was it? You need to wait at least 2 months after the initial piercing to gauge it, and at least 1 month between each stretching. Gimme some details!

yup your right. until you get to like the 1/2 inch. or sumthin then the bigger the number the bigger the gauge. a 10 g would be too big for a lip theyre usually a 14 or 16.
