My dog oreo

My dog is 2 years old his name is oreo. He’s a shihzu. Well he’s been vomiting and having loose stool. Someone siad to feed him rice and chicken for a couple of days and this will ease his tummy. Has anyone else ever heard of this? I dont know

Answer #1

just make a bunch and give you dog a lil bit then if it eats it and doesn’t puke give it more. I work at a dog kennel and we just give the dogs some pepto bismol. It works everytime

Answer #2

Yes, it will help.

Use plain chicken - I will just microwave it and mix it with boiled rice. The dogs don’t care how it’s cooked. Make sure it’s cooked all the way through though. And then just mix it with a little white rice. The rice is binding and the chicken is good for them, and bland also.

It should help.

Answer #3

you should take him to a doctor thats serious

Answer #4

how much rice vs chicken? for example do I make it 2 cups of rice and 1 cup of chicken or does it matter?

Answer #5

sounds good, I would put more rice.

Answer #6

yeha, I have a yorkie he had the same problem, and it helped, do it for around three-four days, if it get worse or not any better, contact your vet.

Answer #7

Absolutely…you can use chicken or hamberger boiled with the rice…it will help quiet down the gut. We use this for diarreah, frequently…However, since he’s also vomiting, that indicates to me that he’s gotten into something more toxic to his system…take him to the vet…they will advise you to keep him on the rice and chicken/hamberger, but will also give you Flagyl to get that gut quieted down.

Answer #8

Way more rice than meat…I don’t have an exact recipie, I just toss in the meat when I boil the rice, so they cook together.
