Answer #1

I’m 13 and only putting 25 pounds on each side. My freinds say the bar is about 45 pounds but I don’t think so. The bar is less than 10pounds, infact. I can’t seem to get stronger. What should I do?

Answer #2

Lets see when I was 13 I could lift 125 Lbs. . . when I was 17 I could lift 330 Lbs.

Answer #5

“Use more weight!” Since you are already in shape, try 4 - 5 sets of 2 to 6 reps doing RM’s about twice a week. But make sure you do a couple lighter warm up sets of 8-10 reps first. (RM’s are repetions to the max.) This is an example of the overload system. You have to overload the muscles to stimulate them to grow. But never exhaust them! An exhausted muscle will not grow! Two work outs a week on the bench is enough. You also need two or three days rest between work outs for any particular body part if you use the overload principal. You should reach a 200 lb bench for one rep in a couple months.
