License to legally show movies to the public?
Where can I find information about the license or whatever you need to legally show movies to the public? And like charge people to see them. Like let’s say I wanted to open a movie theater to show old movies?

First you need to set up an organization or company to show the films.
Then, you need to obtain a license from the Motion Picture Licensing Corporation. They have information on this online here: http://www.mplc.com/licensed.php
After filling out the form, a licensing representative will contact you. I assume they get details from you about your intent and audience before charging you for the license.
If they find that movies have been shown without a license, the penalty is up to $150,000.
